Pure Cold-Pressed Castor Oil
Castor oil is one of the simplest, most versatile oils in natural beauty. This one is pressed at low temperature from castor seeds without the chemical solvent hexane, then left unrefined – so you get the oil itself, with nothing added: no fragrance, no color and no mineral oil.
Ways to use it
- Hair & scalp: massage a few drops into the scalp or smooth through dry ends as a pre-wash treatment, leave on for 30 minutes or overnight, then shampoo.
- Lashes & brows: apply a tiny amount with a clean spoolie or cotton swab to brows and the base of the lashes before bed. Keep it out of your eyes.
- Body: rub into dry elbows, knees, heels and cuticles.
- Carrier oil: blend with your favorite essential oils for massage or a DIY body oil.
Why cold-pressed matters
Cold pressing keeps the oil close to its natural state, including its naturally high level of ricinoleic acid, the fatty acid castor oil is known for. Castor oil is naturally thick, so a little goes a long way.
Good to know
- Do a patch test on your inner arm 24 hours before first use.
- For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if it gets in, rinse with water.
- Castor oil is very thick – on the face or as a carrier, mix it with a lighter oil.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
